How do we get started on our project?
At Empire we believe that a successful project starts with great design. Our years of experience from working on Western Canada's luxury homes have merged into our design process. Our design process for either your kitchen or bathroom starts from an initial meeting to understand the type of cabinetry, appliances, styles and options you are looking for. We begin with two preliminary concepts for your space and complete elevations for two main walls in one of these conceptual plans. After review of these initial concepts we then create a third plan incorporating the best of the two concept plans. This allows our experienced design team to create a detailed budget for your approval. Your investment in the Design Process will be credited towards the purchase price of your cabinetry.
Why should we pay a design retainer to you when others design my kitchen for free?
We provide a professional service not unlike a doctor, dentist, lawyer or accountant, professions which are compensated for their time, knowledge, creativity and advice. To create a well thought out and design-oriented kitchen or bathroom plan takes a significant commitment of resources including designer time, drafting, preparation and research. Since no two luxury projects are alike and each design has to be realistic, efficient and designed specifically to meet your lifestyle, taste and budget, we are creating unique designs for every one of our clients.
Our experience demonstrates the first step toward a successfully completed project is quality design.
The design retainer that you provide to us is fully credited towards your purchase of kitchen or bathroom cabinetry. The retainer facilitates a full commitment from all parties and ensures good communication, creativity and advice, all necessary elements for a successfully completed project.
Where do you work?
We have worked in the finest residences and recreational properties throughout Western Canada. With two showrooms located in Calgary and Vancouver we are able to ensure that we can service your project wherever it is located. We have designed and executed on many complex renovations, coordinating and installing all of our products and the services required. We can also work with homeowners in creating and working closely with your contractor or designer to ensure a quality project. In addition to the projects in Western Canada we have consulted and supplied projects in California, Mexico, Bahamas, Montana and Washington.
Do you only design and manufacture bathrooms and kitchen cabinets?
We are known for our award winning kitchens and baths; we are also capable of creating the custom cabinetry throughout the balance of your home. Our team of designers can assist you in designing your cabinetry for rooms that include your laundry, den, and vanities, bar areas, entertainment units and closets.
Do you sell your products ala carte?
We are happy to supply you with any of our luxury house products that include tile, stone, appliances, lighting and plumbing fixtures. We can also ship any of our products to any destination in Canada by UPS, FedEx or common carrier depending on the size and weight of the shipment. With one of the best selections in Western Canada we welcome you to come in and talk to us about your requirements.
I have heard that you're expensive?
It is all relevant to the product or service being supplied whether it is restaurants, hotels, cars, clothing, custom cabinetry or tiles. We have assembled (under one roof) as unique a selection of luxury house products as any retailer in Western Canada. It is our feeling that the best way to find out if we are suitable for your project is to come in and have a discussion about your requirements, rather than relying on someone else's interpretation of what they think is expensive.
We also feel that if you are considering using the finest in appliances, countertops, flooring and lighting, why would you compromise on the most important element of your home, the kitchen cabinetry. Are you truly willing to sacrifice the look and style of your significant investment for sometimes a small or insignificant difference in price to give up quality design, finishes, installation and service for your project.
